About

Teni, a 25-year-old Yoruba woman, moves into a modern apartment in Lekki, Lagos, hoping for a fresh start. But soon after moving in, she begins receiving mysterious calls warning her not to open her door or ask questions about the woman who lived there before her. As Teni investigates, she discovers that the missing woman, Ifeoma, was connected to her own family and that the two women had met years earlier—something Teni somehow cannot remember. An old photograph, a mysterious necklace, hidden letters, and a secret apartment slowly reveal that Teni's mother had been hiding a painful family secret. With the help of Tunde, a neighbor who knows more than he initially admits, and Auntie Bose, a family friend who has kept the secret for years, Teni begins recovering fragments of the night that changed her family's life. Her search eventually leads her to the truth about Ifeoma, her mother's secret, her father's past, and the real reason Ifeoma disappeared. Set against the backdrop of modern Lagos, the story is filled with suspense, family secrets, emotional revelations, and unexpected twists as Teni discovers that the girl in the next apartment may have been connected to her life all along.
